Avoid Blood Thinners

Before the procedure, avoiding using any medications that can interfere with your treatment is crucial. Ibuprofen, aspirin, and other blood thinners should be avoided before. These medications can cause excess bleeding and bruising.

Avoid Retinol

Retinol products should not be used for two weeks before the procedure. These products can increase skin sensitivity.

Avoid Tobacco and Alcohol

Tobacco and alcohol should be avoided for two weeks before and after the treatment. This will ensure proper healing and minimize any redness associated with the substances.

Take the Provided Medications as Instructed

How is Contour TRL Laser Resurfacing Performed in Troy?

How Should I Care for My Skin Following Contour TRL Laser Resurfacing?

Deep resurfacing recovery typically lasts two to four weeks. To minimize swelling and allow for the best healing experience, you should sleep on your back to prevent early skin peeling. You can apply a cold compress if the area feels warm or tender. You can take Tylenol if you feel any pain. It is essential to not rub or itch. You will be able to wash your face.

While showering, it is essential to avoid contact with any unapproved products. Your provider will discuss which products to use after treatment.  After showering, Aquaphor or another occlusive product should be applied to protect the area. This should be maintained for at least ten days post-treatment for deep resurfacing treatments. .

Makeup should not be worn until the skin is fully healed. Exercise and sweating should be avoided for two weeks, while sun exposure should be avoided for several months post-treatment.
