Are you starting to notice that your skin is showing signs of aging? Are you seeing light or dark spots popping up on your skin? If so, you may be dealing with irregular skin pigmentation.
Irregular skin pigmentation is a common condition that can affect men and women of any age. These pigmentation spots may appear as skin that is darker or lighter than your natural skin tone, and can be caused by many factors including:
- Sun damage
- Your body’s physical reaction to the environment
- Hormonal changes
- Aging
At our office, Dr. Ellen’s highly skilled and educated staff can help to treat your irregular pigmentation issues with a variety of top-notch cosmetic treatments for natural-looking and long-lasting results.
Irregular Pigmentation Remedies
There are a number of treatment options available to treat irregular pigmentation, with the most popular being lasers and peels. At our office we offer the following options:
Sciton Halo Laser
The Sciton Halo laser is a hybrid fractional laser, which means that it uses both non-ablative and ablative laser technologies. This treats multiple layers of the skin without the extended downtime of ablative lasers alone. During treatment, the skin is heated which stimulates collagen production, rejuvenating the skin and creating a more even skin tone.
BBL
The Broadband Light (BBL) treatment also uses light that gently heats the skin, which stimulates collagen. This helps to provide an evenly-toned complexion, blending the natural skin colors. BBL treatments can be used on the face, chest, hands, and neck with minimal downtime.
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is a treatment that uses a special solution to remove dead, dull surface skin and skin cells for a radiant complexion. By sloughing away dead skin cells, uneven pigmentation issues can be addressed, as well as early signs of aging, acne scarring, and a dull complexion. There are a number of strengths of chemical peels to help treat different varieties of skin issues, which can be discussed during your consultation appointment.
