This can be achieved through an incision near the nipple, where the doctor employs techniques such as liposuction or excision (removal with a scalpel). For the removal of significant tissue, a general anesthetic is required. Minor procedures can often be done with local anesthesia and sedation. Our doctors can provide you with specific instructions for your recovery. Your chest will be wrapped in gauze, and a compression garment will be worn after surgery. As the swelling subsides, you’ll see initial results, but it may take 3 months before you can appreciate the outcome.
